Akshaye Khanna back as a baddie in Dishoom

Romantic Manav in Taal; friendly Siddharth in Dil Chahta hai; humorous Jeetu in Hulchul; high octane villainous avatars in Abbas Mastaan’s Humraaz & Race and much more added to credits; Akshaye Khanna was on a long break after the 2012 comedy Gali Gali Chor Hai. However; we hear thatthe actor is set to make a comeback with the Rohit Dhawan directed film Dishoom to share the big screen along Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez. In fact we hear that Akshaye will be seen playing the main antagonist in the film as Sameer Joshi.

A close source told to one of the leading newspapers, “It took a lot of cajoling to get the nod from Akshaye. He will play a smart-talking villain who rattles off one wisecrack after another. He liked the script and the modalities are fast being worked out between the producer, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Akshaye, who has asked for a sizable remuneration.

Though Akshaye has previously played villainous roles, in Dishoom he will be garbed in flashy, slightly over the-top wardrobe as an Afghan man.

When asked sometime way back in September 2013 about maintaining a low profile, the actor replied, “As far as films are concerned, I’m just waiting for the right script. Hopefully, I will start something soon!”

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Dishoom is expected to release in April 2016.

Lesser known facts about Aamir Khan

We all know how very talented Mohammed Aamir Hussain Khan is. The trend of picking one movie at a time in Bollywood comes from Aamir himself.

Let’s look at 5 unknown facts about Aamir Khan.

The perfectionist is related to late president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam from his grandmother’s side. Aamir is the great grand-nephew of freedom fighter and Islamic philosopher Abul Kalam Azad.

1

Aamir Khan made a special appearance in Nasir Hussain-directed ‘Yaadon Ki Baaraat‘ in 1973. The following year, he portrayed the younger version of Mahendra Sandhu‘s character in his father’s production Madhosh

2

Mr Perfectionist attended J.B. Petit School for his pre-primary education, and later moved to St. Anne’s High School, Bandra till the eight grade, reportedly. The very talented Randeep Hooda in Main Aur Charles

I was always there in the right place at the right time

Always willing to take advantage of an opportunity

Writer and director Prawaal Raman presents a fictitious thriller, inspired by true events and told from the perspective of respected Indian cop, Amod Kanth who handled the notorious case of serial killer, Charles Sobhraj.

Main (Amod Kanth) aur Charles (Randeep Hooda) is shot in Bangkok, Delhi, Goa, Mumbai, Pattay & Udaipur and stars the very talented Richa Chaddha. Co-stars Adil Hussain and Tosca Chopra look very satisfying the 2-minutes trailer.

After Beeba Boys was received in International Film Festivals, Randeep Hooda can be seen in a very new avatar and looks highly impressive. Shot in older era, cinematographer Anshuman Mahaley would have surely done a great deal of work to give us the best shots.

The movie revolves around Charles, an enigmatic con man and a vicious killer, and the lives he touched with his inescapable charm and mysterious personality. We follow Charles, who is literally evil personified, as he manipulates innumerable people to facilitate his jail break. The thin line between his victims and accomplices include a copywriter of an international ad agency clinging on to Charles for hope, a royal princess seeking adventure in an otherwise bland life, a young hippie girl hopelessly drawn towards him, and an innocent law student Mira madly in love with the dreams sold by Charles amongst various others – from a financial wizard, an extortionist from Haryana to a helpless prison supervisor. Bit by bit, the character of Charles is revealed through all those who encountered him. Probably the only person who interacted with Charles the least, Commisioner Amod Kanth, was affected by him the most. We see the impact of Charles on all through the eyes of Amod Kanth – and their ever raging battle of good and evil, where good eventually wins but evil always resurfaces. This story, set in the 1980s, shows how Charles escapes from Indias most securely guarded prison and is then subsequently arrested once again in Goa. It reveals the story behind the seemingly simple cat and mouse game between Amod Kanth and Charles. But more importantly, the movie gives the world a peek into the dangerous mind of Charles, how he led different people to perceive him differently, how he filled the vacuum in their lives and ultimately, his dark world where right and wrong blend into a charming and mystique grey existence.

Hoping that the bikini killer won’t be too glorified and we see how twisted and evil serial killers can be.

The movie releases on October 30, 2015.

Tamasha Trailer | A mash up of previous releases

And then we have the much awaited trailer of Imtiaz Ali’s rom-com TAMASHA starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in lead.

Well, at the first glance I loved it; but by the time it ended, I was reminded of mashups.

The flashback, nostalgic music of Rahman sahab; an aroma of Barfi, formatted dialogue of Pyaar Ka Punchnama, bits of Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani, then some gaali (See, the video got 500 more likes), Deepika’s very similar accent, choreography resembling steps from Barfi and pieces of Break Ke Baad. Mix it with Imtiaz Ali’s favourite flash and front drama to dramatize the snapshot, the Love Aaj Kal inspiration, and then don’t let us be serious. Oh Yes! And there’s Rockstar’s Ranbir Kapoor in French beard.

Sums up to present before you the Tamasha Wahi kahaani phir ek baar, majnu ne liye kapde faad, maar tamasha beech bazaar!

Yes, Imtiaz Ali completed the shooting weel ahead of scheule probably because there was nothing new to tell or perhaps making Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani II under a different title was pretty much easier.

The only relief among the story teller trailer was the scenic cinematography as few shots are from Shimla. The Pandavani scene directed by Padma Bhushan Teejan Bai for the narration of Mahabharata in the film. And the quirky conversation between Tara and Ved:

Ved: Tujhe to pyaar ho gaya hai pagli

Tara: Haan (takes a break) haan Ved

Ved: Par kisi aur se

Although the trailer doesn’t look handsome enough to attract the audience but the long awaited pair up of Deepika Padukone & Ranbir Kapoor and the name Imtiaz Ali will be enough to bring in the masses. Let’s wait if Imtiaz will be able to recreate the magic he has done so far through Socha Na Tha, Jab We Met, Rockstar, Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani and of course Highway!

Tamasha First Look| Was it earlier named Window Seat?

The November 27, 2015 release Tamasha has already caught the attention of its fans and they have expressed their wish to let them attend the trailer launch. Here’s the poster which was launched yesterday and had overwhelming response.

Tamasha

The initially titled ‘Window Seat‘ was being worked upon by Imtiaz Ali soon after Rockstar and thus marks the duo coming again! The music is composed by A.R Rahman and the sources say that the soundtrack will appeal the audience. The main plot of the movie revolves around an individual who looses his self by living according to the social conventions expected of him.

Cast:

The poster shows Ranbir and Deepika cracking while the background depicts social conventions a person is usually surrounded by. And that’s what Imtiaz Ali revealed in one of the interviews with PTI,” You meet a certain person and you are very enchanted by him. He is free flowing and your type and then you lose touch. Years later when you meet, he is absolutely somebody else“. And the title refers to the Shakespeare’s monologue – “‘All the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players“. Ranbir plays the role in 3 stages of life – a 9-year old child, 19 year old adolescent and a 30-year-old foreign-returned adult.

Well, the pair of Ranbir and Deepika is too seen after a long gap, the duo were last seen romancing on screen in ‘Yeh Jawaani hai Dewaani’.

And the trailer releases in 3 days from now!

Sunny Leone and the 14 Crore Mystery

None of porn star turned actor Sunny Leone’s movies have been able to mark the box office collection sector. In spite of the fact, Sunny’s demand per movie is increasing sequentially. The actor is not perturbed by her hits & flops and neither does she care about the success of her competitors, all she cares about is remuneration per celluloid drama.

Sunny

Salmaan Khan once said that the star who can attract masses got all rights to demand high fees and seems like Leone is all set to follow the big Khan’s advice. Perhaps that’s the reason for three times hike amounting INR 14 crore. She has given numerous hit stage shows and thus preferred over hit actors like Parineeti, Shraddha and Alia.

Well, that what he demand is and here’s where all the talent digs into itself. While we have seen Alia Bhatt giving ravishing and much acclaimed performances, Parineeti has been praised for all the different kind of narratives she has portrayed. But that’s what entire stardom and appeal is all about. I reckon this is perhaps the public craves for. Well, the promotion from a hidden folder ‘C:\Users\public\Java\CoreJava\Encapsulation\Programs\Class\Files\en-dr\Common’ to C:\Users\public\Movies says it all.
